Pairs/Pelmanism Activity 1
Activity/task:
To know and understand key vocabulary for QCA Unit 3D Rocks and Soils:
Crystal, marble, granite, flint, chalk, clay, layers, particles, pebbles, stones, soil, rock.
Introduce vocabulary to group and discuss where these items found.
Go over rules for playing pairs.
Group:
6 pupils 1 adult
Symbols used:
3 sets of pairs cards - 1 set for group of two.
Print out, laminate and cut up.
Outcome:
rock and soil formed. Some in group not familiar with rock types - photographs would be useful if repeating activity.
Got the idea of matching the cards quickly. Encouraged to say word when turn over a card.
Better understanding by end. Enyoyed game.
